Hello everyone, it's been a long time since i wrote another entry on my blog. Last monday Mrs. Wiwin gave us an assignment which was to wrote about a song, the meaning of the lyrics, etc. So i choose this song

D. Lyrics
Step one, you say we need to talk
He walks, you say sit down, it's just a talk
He smiles politely back at you
You stare politely right on through

Some sort of window to your right
As he goes left, and you stay right
Between the lines of fear and blame
You begin to wonder why you came
Where did I go wrong?

I lost a friend
Somewhere along in the bitterness
And I would have stayed up with you all night
Had I known how to save a life
Let him know that you know best
Cause after all, you do know best

Try to slip past his defense
Without granting innocence
Lay down a list of what is wrong
The things you've told him all along
And pray to God he hears you
And I pray to God he hears you
I lost a friend

Somewhere along in the bitterness
And I would have stayed up with you all night
Had I known how to save a life
As he begins to raise his voice
You lower yours and grant him one last choice

Drive until you lose the road
Or break with the ones you've followed
He will do one of two things
He will admit to everything
Or he'll say he's just not the same

And you'll begin to wonder why you came
Where did I go wrong?
I lost a friend
Somewhere along in the bitterness
And I would have stayed up with you all night
Had I known how to save a life

Where did I go wrong?
I lost a friend
Somewhere along in the bitterness
And I would have stayed up with you all night
Had I known how to save a life
How to save a life
How to save a life

Where did I go wrong?
I lost a friend
Somewhere along in the bitterness
And I would have stayed up with you all night
Had I known how to save a life

Where did I go wrong?
I lost a friend
Somewhere along in the bitterness
And I would have stayed up with you all night
Had I known how to save a life
How to save a life
How to save a life

E. The Writer's Thought

According to lead singer Isaac Slade, the song was composed and influenced by his experience while working as a mentor at a camp for troubled teens:

“One of the youngsters I was paired up with was a musician. Here I was, a protected suburbanite, and he was just 17 and had all these problems. And no one could write a manual on how to save him.”
Slade claims that the song is about all of the people that tried to reach out to the boy but were unsuccessful. As Slade says in an interview, the boy's friends and family approached him by saying, "Quit taking drugs and cutting yourself or I won't talk to you again," but all he needed was some support. The boy was losing friends and going through depression. He lost his best friend and could not deal with it. The verses of the song describe an attempt by an adult to confront a troubled teen. In the chorus, the singer laments that he himself was unable to save a friend because he did not know how.

While this was the original intent of the song, the band has opened the song to interpretation. They created a website where fans were welcome to submit music videos they had made for the song. This arose from the response that Slade got from the song

“I got a lot of e-mails about it. One boy died in a car accident, and I guess it had been the last song he downloaded from his computer. They played it at his funeral, and some of his friends got Save a life tattooed on their arms. The response has been overwhelming.”

From an interview with Slade by Bob Wilson in Sauce, Slade was asked, "'How to Save a Life', was apparently inspired by an experience you had as a mentor to a boy who had a drug problem. What's the story behind that?" Slade answered:

“Well there's a group home here in Denver called Shelterwood, and it takes in teens who've had a tough time; their parents don't want to send them to jail, but they can't keep track of them themselves... A friend of mine was actually the president for that particular school, so he asked Joe and I to come up for one of their weekend retreats... I was paired up with one boy in particular. His story was just amazing – all the relationships that he had put at risk because of the decisions he made, and eventually losing the relationships... the cost of his lifestyle and his choices, and kind of relating them to my own life and my own stories; seeing all the relationships I've threatened for one reason or another. It was a really inspiring weekend.”

F. My Thought

It's a really good song both based by vocal performance and the deep meaning of the lyrics. I first heard this song from from the hospital drama Grey's Anatomy, back then i haven't yet understand the deep meaning of the lyrics since i'm just around 12 years old at the time, and i kinda forgot about the existence of this song. When Mrs.Wiwin gave me this assignment this wasn't the first song that came accross my mind.

But when i do some search i stumbled accross this song, which i chose because it sounds familiar for me. After hearing few times i then remembered that i used to hear this song, then i do some searching about the inspiration behind this song, and that was the reason that i don't hesitate at all on picking this song. The song also mirrored my experience that i have passed all of this years in my life.

To be honest, i also ever contemplated on suicide but i managed to give another thought on it and as result of it i can be here writing this blog. Because what i realize after what i experience is no matter how hard your life are, there's a lot of other people suffer like you or maybe even worser but they still keep strong no matter how harsh their life is. Why can't you??

I also stressed at the time, i think that death is better for me rather than suffering this life anymore, but what do you gain after death?? Nothing. Doing suicide will do no good to problems that you are passing through. You have to keep strong, running away will do no good to your problems, you have to face it head on no matter how hard it is. If i can, why can't you?

I hope this song can inspire a lot of people that are suffering from hardships of their life to keep move forward without any regrets.

Dewa Athena - Part 3

This will be the shortest part of the trilogy.

I Come at 7.00 today.. Since the euforia have been killed off. Most of people decided not to come to Dewa Athena that day. Well i also only come there to give homework assignment to Hanifah and Baskara. Well while waiting for them i decided to look around.. Most of the people that came today were either the participants for Finals or the Officials of Dewa Athena.

I really bored. Well some of my friends did come but most of them decided to stay home.. Well i have to wait anyway since i've texted Hanifah and she said that she will come at around 9 o'clock. I decided to watch the badminton match and they're skilled indeed, unlike my very amateur-ish performance.. Our class lost though.. Nah nevermind that.. What's important that we already tried as hard as we can.

Well then Hanifah came, i gave her the required materials and decided to leave after that.. I have to see a doctor that day.. An orthopedist to be exact.. Well before i left, i was asked about the interview by Kang Hernadi.. But since i'm in a hurry i decided to give the reports later on.

Dewa Athena - Part 2

The Next day of course i come at 6.30 am but.. Not since yesterday's not very fun as expected so most of them came late (of course it's not accidental), fortunately there's some familiar faces that came early that day. One of them is Akbar we played badminton so that we didn't feel very bored waiting for the event to start. Of course my skill is not top notch but still i have fun playing with him, although the shuttlecock oftenly missing somewhere that need some time to find. Oh yeah i forgot to mention that i also played with Felita.. She's still learning but she still play very well.

Oh yeah i also forgot to tell you all that i was the medic for that day, joining me in my medic duty is Teh Dewi, Ayu, Difa, and also Teh Falla. I'm the first to arrived there but since  there's no medical equipment and also there's no other people arrived yet to brief me, so i decided to look around.. At the front gate i met Baskara so i decided to work our homework together which is a civic homework. After i finished i met Ayu and talked with her for a bit waiting for the others to come.

After that Difa come and just before we do our briefing, i was called by Adhit to play Tug-of-War and since we didn't have enough people at the time so there's no choice but to join the game, then we won.. I'm so happy that we won but there's no time i have to go back to my post. But just after i came back to my post, Syavina asked me about the interview.. I suddenly confused "What Interview?" i asked her, she then scold me since i forgotten about the interview.

Then i remembered that i forgot to check email from Kang Hernadi, i then checked it immediately and realized that my division of Aspiday was supposed to interview certain 10 peoples each and the deadline was supposed to be tomorrow at 09.00 am. Well with no choice left i decided to do double job.. Interviewing while doing my medic job.. It's not so hard at first but the victims of Tug-Of-War is starting to piling up.. Leading us to be a bit short handed, not only that but the lack of Hansaplast at the medic box also leave us a bit of a problem.

Thankfully after interviewing some people my problem started to be cleared.. But there's two interviewee that i don't know personally.. That is Kang Ahmad Dhifan and Teh Gina.. well i supposed that once i have given a job i have to finish it so.. I asked Felita that i interview earlier to help me.. Well she agreed on helping me interview Kang Ahmad Dhifan.. So yeah.. That went very well.. One problem remains.. Teh Gina.. I managed to interview her though.. With the help of Imam.

Well That's Friday so after that i go to mosque to do my Friday Prayer.. When suddenly.. Rain pours heavily.. I didn't have many choice but to wait.. After i come back.. Ayu asked me have i eaten yet.. I said i haven't yet.. Well at least i ate after that.. Well after the rain i watched dodgeball participants so that they won't be injured.. When.. The rain pours heavily again..

Well i wait together with Ayu since we both ride the same Angkot.. The only difference is.. That we both went on a different direction.. she went to Dago while i went to Kalapa... Well After that i decided to go home with her.. After we reach our respective angkot we both say goodbye.

Dewa Athena - Part 1

Dewa Athena - Part 1
28 March 2016

Well it's already a very very long time since i last posted here, today or probably tonight to be more precise i'm going to post about an important event my school had before middle term exam that is Dewa Athena.

I knew about Dewa Athena maybe quicker than most people why? Because it was discussed about it at the 1st Mubes PK so members of PK already knew that there will be Dewa Athena. Athena is the Greek goddess of wisdom, courage, inspiration, civilazation, law and justice, mathematics, olive cultivation, strength, war strategy, the arts, crafts, and skill in ancient greek mythology.

Well everything starts at the first day, it was a bit cloudy but the sky quickly cleared up so i'm really happy that day. Actually we were told to assemble at 6.30 am so i did, and yeah most people came right at that time (well it's the first day) and then after we assemble we jog for a bit. We jog circling the route to Lapbal, my rib feels so painful near the end of the route but thankfully it's on the end of the route so i can walk without a problem.

Thankfully i recovered very quickly and can resume the event without much problem.. It's uncomfortable but still gotta be strong, then we were to move to edge of the court since everything is about the be started. I then watched the game of basketball between two teams (well i forgot which team played first but yeah it was enjoyable). But most of my friends were busy talking among themselves so i didn't get the euforia that i was expecting.

Then it's started to get a bit boring, since basically it's a marathon of games played almost with no interval whatsoever then i decided to do a little chat with Ayu, maybe a long one. And i also borrow a comic book from Sabrina about the live of some little fairies (Well to be honest i needed a bit force to borrow it). Then Ayu decided to watch her class's marathon well i decided to tag along since there is nothing better to do.

After that i come back to my classmates at the basketball court, and the basketball game still played there so.. Well some people planned to escape the event. I don't blame them though since it's also a bit boring for me. I will play dodgeball but it's tomorrow so i decided to talk with Adhit to go home but Adhit told me that we can go home after Tarik Tambang at around 12.30 but after i waited it was raining heavily that the game was postponed so i decided to go home anyway although the rain pours heavily.

Well i don't feel the euforia that day.. i sincerely hoped that time that the next day will be better

See You Soon

Education To Bulid a Better Future for All

Education To Bulid a Better Future for All

Achmad Luthfi N.A (01)
LM Inggris 2A

In this recent times, education has been so important in our life may it on socially and other aspect. Actually currently our country of Indonesia may not have a good education if compared to other nations such as USA or UK, but actually we really need good education, why? Maybe some of you think that “Ah.. There’s no need on education” or maybe “Education are useless, you should work to make money rather than spending money on your studies.”

Well let me answer your questions now, we need education PERIOD no comma at all and no other reasons to avoid education, why you might ask?  There is a lot of reason one of them is to avoid social embarrassment in the future. You might converse with other people without entering the topic of your personal education but are you sure that they will always steer away from that topic of conversation? Of course not.  One day your friends might proudly say “I just finished my studies on Master Degree on psychology, how about you?” will you just plainly answer “Ah.. I only finished Middle School” you will be embarrassed and not only that but your friend will also talk about you behind your back and the word will spread to other people then when you realized that will you just keep a plain face and have no hard feelings at all or what will you answer when your child ask “Dad where you went to College?” while you can only answer “Nah, daddy has never go to college” will you do that?? No of course you won’t not only you will be ashamed but your kid will be too and when other child talks with each other about their parents they talk about "My dad is a master graduate from Harvard University" then the other kid will say "May dad is also a master graduate but he graduated from Cambridge University" what will your kid do when they asked which university that his/her dad graduated in while in reality that his dad has never entered university , all of it will cost you your self confidence, it can even make you lost your future due to all that shame.

Next reason is without education we are just helpless sheep that follows the farmer anywhere he went? Will we also follow him when he do something bad or even trying to do harm? No of course not, let’s have an example, when your friend told you that you should just jump over a cliff, will you just jump without thinking anything? no, of course no. We need education so we wouldn’t follow groundless choice, some people believe in superstitions but not all of them was good, not even all of them are harmless. We need education so we don’t  haplessly do something stupid even when other people are coaxing us like doing rain dance an rituals, do you really want to use face paint and chanting things just to have a rain?? There's technology to make rain you know, as long as we're educated there's no use on doing those kind of things. If we don’t see the importance of education our future will be bleak, our country would be full of people believe in crazy things other people says. We can even be a terrorist to our home country, they have a strong faith and i do admire that from them. But with their lack of knowledge sly and evil people influence them so that they think that "My country is so corrupted maybe i should free them from this by bombing them". That's not useful at all and instead of giving any good to our country, it also create chances for people who want to do something harmful and take advantages from our country.

Next one is, that we need education so we can get a better chance of fulfilling the needs of our family. Everyone wants to fulfill the need of their family, no one wants his family to eat leftovers and live in a wagon or house made in cardboard. The problem is a lot of them thinking that the easy way like stealing and robbing other people is the best way to end their poverty, no that’s not the answer at all because lot of them lose their future because they went to jail and spend most of their time locked in there and not only that but by robbing and stealing people you also make other people suffer because of your actions and not only that but there's also a chance that something went wrong when you do criminal activities and you harm other people, the worse case is that you not only harm them but you can also make them lose their life and destroying their family's future. That doesn't solve the problem but instead it make an endless cycle of suffering. So what’s the answer then? EDUCATE YOURSELF, if your education is high enough you can get your dream job that gives you high enough money to fulfil things that you want such as become a Doctor, a Professor, a Docent, or maybe a Researcher. If you do that then buying car, motorcycle, a good house, and luxurious items that you want will be a dream no more, as long as you rigorously educate yourself you can get a job that will give you a lot of money and fulfilling the need of your family also you can also be happy because you work at the field that you want to.

Next education is also important on saving lives and also improving the quality of everyone's life, without education there won't be any doctor that can save lives and cure of sickness around the world, also sick people would be cured at home with remedies which don't have any scientific base that instead of curing make the illness worse then ever. If that happen the country would be in state of chaos everyone dying everywhere but other people can only sit waiting them to die while hoping they wouldn't get that disease, that must be prevented because if that situation really happen our country will be in a grave danger, that's why education on healthcare field is also important so that there won't be a lot people dying and their disease would be cured. Actually, do you realized that without education we will live in an era of inconvenience and discomfort? The effect is really helpful to us but it also make us taking everything for granted, i'll give you examples such as gas and electric stoves, try to imagine us still using a wooden stove on Bandung City on this current day, it's not very pleasant isn't it? Everyone trying to chop wood while Bandung's tree is not that many enough to support the entire city, not including the restaurant, cafe, and other business that require to cook and make something with stove. Still not convinced? How about your laptop? We always take laptop for granted without caring it, while in the old days people used typewriter and big books for making a report and searching for references, we should appreciate that because of technology we don't need to bring huge things everywhere and now we can conveniently live like we are now, that's why we have to keep learning so that our live would be more convenient than it is now.

Other reason is that education also prevents us from becoming a bad guy. Basically everyone is free from all malice, hatred, and evil but due to environment they become like that, actually based on one of the article i read on the internet everyone has a side of bad in their self well me included, the only different that criminals, psycopaths and other wrongdoers different with the other people is education. Education build views of right and wrong, ideals, habit, and morals, if the education that was given to a people is bad then the bad thing will turn to more dangerous things  like a weed keep growing and destroying plants around it. The dangerous thing is people usually neglect the importance of education to their child  and even if they educate their child they neglect the education that their environment gave them, the result of both things is that the child will think that doing bad things is okay and there is only good things that you can get through doing those things while the actual thing is dangerous, and when parents realized their child was already straying too far and then give them advice the child won't listen.. Why? It's because that they already have an ideal and moral view that what they're doing is right and other people that forbade them from doing things that they want is a bad person and they ended up distancing themselves from people that are should be precious to them and instead they started to hang out with other people who have same habit like them and then the habit grow more dangerous from a simple mischief to more worse thing like stealing, robbing, and mugging, they can even kill someone if they don't get the right education and when that time comes it will be hard to convert them to the good person they once was. That's another reason why this education is so important.

The other reason is that we need education so we can make this country more advanced. Who don’t want their country to be more advanced than the neighbouring countries? Of course everyone wants that, but we can’t do it if we just keep jabbering nonsense at the government without we educate ourselves and contribute for our country. If we educate ourselves we can solve a lot of problems of our country such as researching the latest technology, solving the scarcity of food, and even solving other domestic problems. We can even solve our criminality and corruption problem if we educate childrens right on social and civil studies so that they will keep their ideals in their hearts and make them to refuse yielding to their greed, that’s how important education is, do you want our country to be destroyed because of people just keep complaining without doing something useful for our country? Or be destroyed by crisis that happened because we were left behind by other countries?  HELL NO!! We all love this country that’s why we have to educate ourselves so this country would be more advanced than the condition it is now and also keeping this country away from great peril. We all can be more advanced than China, Singapore or even US if we try hard, why?? You don’t believe me?? As long as we educate ourselves and try to improve this country as hard as we can, we'll make it. I'm sure of it.

I know education is not easy it's also not easy for me too you know, I’m sure it’s not easy spending your time learning different studies like math, chemistry, biology, and physics while you see your friends playing tag, bicycle, soccer, and other games but you have to study no matter what because although studying is hard, honestly at this time i'm still suffering from the urge to play games rather than study but studying will bore a fruit so sweet that you will never regret taking that very important choice, i know it's a bit frustrating but we have to be patient if i may quote a song "move on. move on, move on although it's hard." It's hard i know it but i have felt the benefit of studying so why not sacrificing your time to play games rather than sacrificing your bright future.

Thanks for reading, i' m sorry for grammatical and tenses error in this post, i hope that you can forgive me for the errors since i'm still learning myself, that being said...

I'll see you next time

Place with Amazing Architecture - Ideal Palace - 17 January 2015

Place Around The World With Amazing Architecture
Ferdinand Cheval Palace a.k.a Palais Ideal

Hello everyone it's been awhile since i wrote something on my blog, i'm being so busy lately that it was so hard to update my blog, well last monday i got an assignment to post about a place with amazing architecture around the world so here goes....

The first places that come to my mind while i'm thinking about place with amazing architecture was France's Eiffel Tower, Italy's Pisa Tower, Dubai's Burj Khalifa, Taiwan's Taipei 101 but tower's already been reviewed too much for me. Next Greece's Colosseum, England's Stonehenge, America's Liberty Statue.. They're still too common for my taste... So that's why i searched amazing places on google.. and i accidentally found one that even have an amazing story

It was the Ferdinand Cheval Palace which was more known under the name of Palais Ideal for me it was the greatest, most extraordinary, and the most beautiful example of the Naive art architecture which have the childlike simplicity in technique and subject matter.. But the extraordinary effort of the creator has turned the "child play" into a jaw dropping wonderland made by stone, and i'm not exaggerating.. It is not made by super complex calculation or super modern tools.

It's located at 8 Rue du Palais Idéal, 26390 Hauterives, France. It was bulit by Ferdinand Cheval. At first you will thought that Ferdinand Cheval is a rich prince, or a rich conglomerate, or a ruthless dictator or even maybe a king? If you think so then you're wrong, he's just an ordinary guy, a postman to be exact. He spent 33 years of his life to create one of the greatest architectural piece in the world.

Ferdinand Cheval was born in Charmes-sur-I'Herbasse on 1836, he left home at 13 to become a baker's apprentice but later decided to be a postman. He started the construction of his palace at April 1879, he wrote at his journal :
"I was walking very fast when my foot caught on something that sent me stumbling a few meters away, I wanted to know the cause. In a dream I had built a palace, a castle or caves, I cannot express it well... I told no one about it for fear of being ridiculed and I felt ridiculous myself. Then fifteen years later, when I had almost forgotten my dream, when I wasn't thinking of it at all, my foot reminded me of it. My foot tripped on a stone that almost made me fall. I wanted to know what it was... It was a stone of such a strange shape that I put it in my pocket to admire it at my ease. The next day, I went back to the same place. I found more stones, even more beautiful, I gathered them together on the spot and was overcome with delight... It's a sandstone shaped by water and hardened by the power of time. It becomes as hard as pebbles. It represents a sculpture so strange that it is impossible for man to imitate, it represents any kind of animal, any kind of caricature."
"I said to myself: since Nature is willing to do the sculpture, I will do the masonry and the architecture"
For the next thirty-three years, Cheval picked up stones during his daily mail round and carried them home to build the Palais idéal.He spent the first twenty years building the outer walls. At first, he carried the stones in his pockets, then switched to a basket. Eventually, he used a wheelbarrow. He often worked at night, by the light of an oil lamp.
In the heart of a flourishing garden, he imagines a uninhabitable palace populated by an incredible bestiary: octopus, hind, caiman, elephant, pelican, bear, birds… But also giants, fairies, mythological figures or architectures from all the continents. An architectural work as unclassifiable as universal.

Cheval also wanted to be buried in his palace. However, since that is illegal in France, he proceeded to spend eight more years building a mausoleum for himself in the Hauterives cemetery. He died on 19 August 1924, about a year after he had finished building it, and is buried there.

Just before his death, Cheval began to receive some recognition from luminaries like André Breton and Pablo Picasso. His work is commemorated in an essay by Anaïs Nin. In 1932, the German artist Max Ernst created a collage titled The Postman Cheval. The work belongs to the Peggy

Guggenheim Collection and is on display there. In 1958, Ado Kyrou made Le Palais idéal, a short film on Cheval's palace.
In 1969, André Malraux, the Minister of Culture, declared the Palais a cultural landmark and had it officially protected. In 1986 Cheval was put on a French postage stamp.
It is open for visitors every day except Christmas Day, New Year's Day and 15 to 31 January.
Chuck Palahniuk's novel Choke includes a character named Denny who, like Cheval, is an uneducated deliveryman who gradually collects and assembles stones into his "dream home."
The Ideal Palace is a super amazing place that i wish i  can visit it at near future

Thank You Very Much For Reading :)
